For those of our friends who will be travelling great distances to attend our wedding (and for which we are quite thankful!), this page should give a few pointers toward whatever you need. If there is anything missing, please e-mail us so we can help you to make arrangements! We'll be adding things from time to time.

Air Travel

Saline and Ann Arbor are quite close to Detroit, MI, which happens to be a hub for Northwest Airlines. This works out quite well, in that Northwest has direct flights to Seattle and even Tokyo, not to mention everywhere else in the U.S. The Detroit-Wayne County International Airport is a mere 20 minutes away. Don't get it confused with any municipal Detroit airports. The three-letter code for the airport is "DTW", not "DET".

We've arranged for a special discount from Northwest so that anyone affiliated with our wedding can get a moderate fare discount. Contact me before you book airfare so that I can get you the discount code and the number to call.

Accomodations

We have set aside a number of hotel rooms and suites for out-of-town guests. If you are planning to come, contact Akiko about those arrangements. We have tentative lists of who we think will stay where, but the earlier we know your preferences, the better!

Ground Transportation

The airport is about 30 minutes from Ann Arbor, and the wedding and reception will be a 20 minute drive from the hotels. We can help organize rental cars if need be.

To reach the hotels from the airport, take I-94 west toward Chicago (east goes toward Detroit). Exit 177 is the State St. exit. Turn right onto State St., and then another right onto Victors Way, where the hotels are located. You can see the hotels as (1) and (2) on the map below. Good eating and shopping can be found in downtown Ann Arbor, the Main and Liberty area. The very first Border's bookstore is at State and Liberty with a Starbucks across the street (for Christopher's parents). The Briarwood Mall is close to the hotels with another Starbucks kiosk inside. The wedding takes place in Saline, which is southwest of this map. See the other map for directions.
